The Brains Behind CDEX
Progressive management and staff teamwork are CDEX’s greatest asset. Its people are drawn from varied industrial backgrounds, bringing a broad understanding of many technical disciplines and a synergistic approach to solving problems. Project management that is responsive, focused and financially accountable is the hallmark of our team.
Mr. Malcolm H. Philips Jr., CEO and Chairman, founded the company in 2001 and has guided the Company during its formation, technology acquisition/development, capital acquisitions, transition to a public company, and commercialization/marketing of its product lines.
Prior to his work with CDEX, Mr. Philips served as an attorney for 23 years, an energy consultant for 4 years, and an army officer for 8 years. Mr. Philips has a BS (United States Military Academy), an ME in Nuclear Engineering (Iowa State University) and a JD (Georgetown University Law Center).
Mr. Philips was a Professional Engineer (Texas) and has received various awards in the military including the Bronze Star, and certifications as a Nuclear Plant OIC and Airborne/Ranger.
« lessMr. Greg Firmbach, President, has North American responsibility for the current ValiMed product line and introduction of new products serving the healthcare industry based on CDEX core technologies.
Mr. Firmbach has served for over 25 years in senior sales and marketing positions in the healthcare industry. He has led divisions and companies (both public and private) in all aspects of successful development, launch and expansion of both software and hardware products related to the healthcare industry. He has won numerous awards for excellence in sales and marketing. Mr. Firmbach also served in aviation related leadership positions for over 25 years as a United States Naval Officer on Active and Reserve duty.
Mr. Firmbach has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Marketing/Finance from the University of Cincinnati and advanced leadership training from various industry courses throughout the U.S.
« lessMr. Timothy D. Shriver, Senior Manager of Technical Operations, has overall responsibility for technical operations, research, QA and Human Resources. Mr. Shriver has served in senior executive positions with CDEX since its formation in 2001.
Prior to joining CDEX, Mr. Shriver served a number of years in the nuclear power industry where he has held senior management positions in operations, maintenance, quality assurance, regulatory compliance and auditing at nuclear power generating companies including, Mississippi Power & Light, Arizona Power, Tennessee Valley Authority, and Ontario Power Generation.
Mr. Shriver resigned his commission as a Lieutenant in the Navy in 1981 after 13 years of service. He has a BS in Physics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
« lessMr. Stephen A. McCommon, Chief Financial Officer and VP of Finance (effective November 11, 2008), has overall responsibility for the financial and accounting activities of CDEX.
Prior to his work with CDEX, Mr. McCommon served for over 30 years in senior financial positions in a number of public and private companies including Applied Energetics, Inc., Molecular Diagnostics, Inc., Heartland Technology, Inc., and Wells Fargo Bank.
Mr. McCommon obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Arizona State University, is a Certified Public Accountant in Arizona and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
